This position is part of the Interior Business Center (IBC), Financial Management Directorate (FMD). The incumbent will be responsible for a myriad of day-to-day administrative support services that impact the activities performed by the Financial Management Directorate.

Duties

Exercises control over the Associate Director and/or Deputy Director's appointments, schedules and calendars with authority for changes or commitments of time. Screens all calls and visitors, answering most non-technical questions and completing most administrative business involving established policy or routine matters, referring to the supervisor when necessary. Sorts and distributes incoming mail as appropriate. Serves as custodial property office over accountable property at the office location. Work with on-site employees to perform periodic inventory of property and keep official property records current. Organizes, orders, and tracks supplies, software, and other office equipment on behalf of Directorate employees. Serves as timekeeper for time and attendance reporting on a biweekly basis using the automated time and attendance system for the Associate Director's, Deputy and other senior managers as appropriate. Responsible for accuracy and integrity on time and attendance files. Performs payment activity on behalf of client agencies by utilizing Treasury’s Secure Payment System (SPS) and reviewing/validating supporting documentation to support processing of the payment into the financial system. Assists in establishing and maintaining tracking systems and procedures for the office administrative activities. Assists in establishing and maintaining records management, general correspondence, records for staff acquisition, tracking licenses, directorate level policies, etc.

Qualifications

At the GS-07 you must meet one of the following qualifications: A. Have one year of specialized experience to at least the GS-05 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes performing work in automated systems such as Oracle or SAP based systems; performing administrative functions such as scheduling meetings/appointments and/or organizing documents and materials; experience in utilizing Treasury's Secure Payment System (SPS) to disburse payments; and a high degree of customer service etiquette and effective communication skills. OR B. I have 1 full year of graduate level education. (Note: Applicants who select this response must provide transcripts as verification of their education) OR C. I have a combination of experience and education as defined above which equals 100%. For example, I have 6 months of experience and 6 months of graduate level education. (Note: Applicants who select this response must provide transcripts as verification of their education). OR D. Have a Bachelor's Degree with Superior Academic Achievement. (Superior Academic Achievement (SAA): If you are claiming SAA, you must submit documentation by the closing date of the announcement showing that you have successfully completed all requirements for a bachelor's degree AND meet one of the following requirements: 1. A grade point average of "B" (a GPA of 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0) for all completed undergraduate courses, or those completed in the last two years of undergraduate study. 2. A grade-point average of "B+" (a GPA of 3.45 or higher out of a possible 4.0) for all courses in your major field of study, or those courses in your major completed in the last two years of undergraduate study. 3. Rank in the upper one-third of your class in the college, university, or major subdivision. 4. Membership in a national honor society (other than freshman honor societies) recognized by the association of College Honor Societies. Note: If more than 10 percent of your courses were taken on a pass/fail basis, your claim must be based on class standing or membership in an honorary society. Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
