Duties

You will operate various types of heavy equipment to push, pull, pile, load and compact materials while moving and covering refuse. You will track loads of incoming and outgoing construction material, wood, and green waste, estimate their weights, and keep accurate up to date records. You will operate a 40 ft. tub grinder with a hydraulic knuckleboom grinding up to 50 tons of wood and green waste per month. You will inspect solid waste loads entering the landfill for hazardous waste, prohibited items, and recyclables and instructs customers to designated disposal areas. You will operate a variety of heavy equipment in accordance with safety rules and regulations, using extreme caution while working around the constant flow of customers entering the work area.

Requirements

  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, handle items weighing up to 50lbs.

Experience in material handling operations and possess experience operating large forklifts and warehouse cranes.
