You will serve as an EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST (ELECTRONIC) in the PILOT TRAINING CENTER (N31) of STRIKE FIGHTER WING PACIFIC STAFF.
Duties
You will ensure that contract instructors are following training objectives specified in the various syllabus designated by the Fleet Replacement Squadron, Type Wing Weapons School, and fleet training officers.
You will ensure compliance by the Contractor for FA-18 Training Devices.
You will ensure availability of the FA-18 Training Devices themselves for the service life of the FA-18 aircraft.
You will resolve disputes, set or change schedules, determine priorities, and settle controversial issues.
You will make recommendations on the reliability, maintainability, and acceptability of major simulators during the acquisition process of new training systems.
You will justify, define, and resolve logistical problems with project engineers and Integrated Logistics Specialist managers as to requirements for parts, tools, test equipment, documentation, etc.
You will review monthly Utilization Reports in accordance with Contract Data Requirements Lists and Data Item Description instructions and requirements.
You will provide technical expertise concerning the design, specifications, testing, and acceptance of new and modified training devices and oversee the operation, maintenance, and support.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position requires visual acuity to distinguish between colors.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications
For the GS-12:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: evaluating technical specifications and requirements of electronic aircraft weapons systems simulators to identify or develop maintenance and operations improvements that ensure the availability of flight simulation devices.
