THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a WG-6605-10 ARTILLERY REPAIRER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1224000 in SPMD 6021 and is part of the MO Combined Support Maintenance Shop.
APPOINTMENT FACTORS: This is a Permanent Excepted Service position. This is a bargaining unit position.
Duties
Performs maintenance on the electrical system of the turrets.
Repairs the stabilization control systems, circuit breakers, distribution boxes, cables, and wiring system, points and all other electrical components in the turret.
Replaces Line Replaceable Units (LRUs).
Tests and repairs electrical test sets that are used to test the electrical systems of the tank turret.
Follows schematic diagrams and relays to determine if there is malfunction in the test equipment.
Repairs the hydraulic system, which provides the pressure to elevate and traverse the gun and rotate the turret.
Repairs hydraulic valves which control the motion to ensure safety, these are controlled by electrical solenoids.
Repairs all mechanical parts involved in turret traversing, such as the traversing gearbox including the clutch assembly, and turret races including cupola bearings.
Services the gun by exercising the recoil system to check for leaks in the seals.
Performs other duties as assigned.

- This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Missouri National Guard prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an Excepted Service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

- Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more.
Qualifications
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Maximum Military Grade - CW2 (W-2)
Warrant Officer - Branch 91 or 94
Enlisted - CMF 91 or 94; MOS 13B or 13Z
Supervisor must verify that selected individual occupies a compatible military position. Title 32 National Guard employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (grade inversion).
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education or training which demonstrates the ability to perform mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic system operations; and fit and adjust parts and assemblies.
WG-10 SPECALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 18 months of specialized experience that demonstrates your broad knowledge in repairing, rebuilding, modify and testing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems and major components of artillery systems; ability to diagnose malfunctions and determine needed repairs in artillery systems; ability to inspect artillery systems; and the ability to develop test standards. This specialized experience must also demonstrate your ability to interpret and apply drawings, schematics, blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
Education
This job does not have a qualification requirement that allows substitution of education for specialized experience.
