Duties
The major duties of the Education Technician position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Serves as a primary instructor for the park's curriculum based residential program and other education/youth work programs.
Works closely with schools, teachers, and students.
Directs and coordinates all aspects of the day-to-day operations and activities.
Plans, coordinates, and conducts formal education outreach at schools and community and educational events.
Qualifications

To qualify for the Education Technician position at the GS-07 grade, you must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have one or more years of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equips the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position. This experience includes activities such as: Delivering educational programs to youth as an environmental educator, interpreter, guide, or teacher. You must annotate hours worked per week on your resume.

Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
ICTAP/CTAP Statement: Current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) or the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) must be well qualified for the position to receive consideration for special priority selection.
