Qualifications
We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-12 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-11 level defined as conducting financial and/or audit projects/studies to evaluate program performance and efficiency; corresponding with financial auditors; and interpreting finance laws, policies, and regulations to prepare project papers, staff reports, and oral briefings.
To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-12 level defined as providing technical guidance on financial management regulations and/or audits; leading or participating on a audit project team to improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency; and preparing financial reports and disseminating findings and disclosures.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1) Skill in applying finance administrative laws, policies, regulations, and precedents; 2) Skill in conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses; 3) Knowledge of financial audit approaches and techniques; 4) Ability to assess processes for the purpose of evaluating efficiency and recommending improvement; 5) Skill in written communication; 6) Skill in oral communication sufficient to provide recommendations; 7) Ability to develop training materials and presentations.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
