This position is located in Chiricahua National Monument the Facility Management Division.
Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis.
Duties
- You will be placed in a pay status and can expect to work a minimum of 25 pay periods not to exceed a maximum of 25 pay periods. You will be placed in a non-pay status from approximately 6/9 to 6/22 unless other work exists that can be assigned to you during this period.
The Major Duties of the Maintenance Worker include, but are not limited to the following:
Performs a variety of trade tasks often combining trade practices such as carpentry, wood crafting, roofing, masonry and painting.
Performs carpentry work involving stabilization, preservation, or restoration of wooden historic structures.
Performs simple and basic research of records pertaining to historic and/or prehistoric structures for the purpose of assessing their physical condition, style, preservation needs and conservation work required.

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT)
Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.
Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)
Use of Measuring Instruments
Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprinting reading)
Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
Knowledge of Materials
