You will serve as a AIRCRAFT LAUNCH AND RECOVERY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC in the N32 Air Operations Department of NAS KEY WEST.

Duties

You will read and understand work orders and instructions to complete assigned work in accordance with established procedures or sequence of operations. You will develop material requirement estimates and labor hours for the manufacture, assembly, disassembly, overhaul, repair, installation, and test of aircraft launch and recovery equipment (ALRE) systems and components. You will isolate faults on the subassembly of aircraft launch and recovery equipment (ALRE) components and support equipment (SE) You will complete work involving several familiar processes which require remembering directions or work sequences.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position requires exposure to high noise levels.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
