The primary purpose of this position is to provide electronic technical order (e-TO) Information Technology (IT) support, Information Assurance (IA), e-Tool management, Technical Order (TO) systems administration, maintenance database integrity, and other related support.

Duties

Administers aerospace maintenance e-TO Information Technology (IT) systems for the AMO. Administers AMO customer support help desk operations for the assigned area. Provides Technical Order (TO) system administration as the sole point of contact for the Technical Order Distribution Office (TODO). Ensures the local maintenance information system (IMDS) database is accurate for the Maintenance Directorate and performs Terminal Area Security Officer (TASO) duties providing data integrity for the AMO. Performs duties as Information Technology Equipment Custodian as outlined in AFMAN 33-153.

  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, 0335 Series. https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=Group-Standards SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: Application of the functions, capabilities and limitations of a variety of personal use computers and the operating environment in which they operate, common agency computer network systems and programs; as well as computer-related software and hardware in order to install, test, upgrade, configure, diagnose, and maintain proper functionality; Utilization of the standard workstation operating system and office productivity applications for word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, and databases in order to train and assist customers in running applications, installing and upgrading workstations, managing printing, troubleshooting and optimization, and managing storage media; Implementing established agency Information Assurance programs, policies and procedures to assist in the implementation and enforce computer, software, wireless and mobile device compliance standards throughout the organization with a relatively small population of users. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of the fundamental capabilities and limitations of a variety of common computers, computer network systems, and programs; as well as computer-related software and hardware in order to test, install, upgrade, configure, diagnose, and maintain proper functionality. Knowledge of network security environment, network configuration, standard network operating system service and support sharing and securing resources in order to support technical program applications used within the organization. Knowledge of routine configuration of internet browsers, electronic mail, and/or website design to maintain and update existing systems. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, graphs, and E-mail/messaging. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to apply standard agency policies and procedures in areas such as computer security, network security, equipment and software management, specialized information systems management, help desk customer support operations, and related compliance and accountability standards. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
