You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (APPSW/SYSANALYSIS) in the Marine Corp Logistics Command Assistant Chief of Staff G-6 of MARINE CORPS LOGISTICS COMMAND.

Duties

You will monitor development of solutions to ensure compliance with specification. You will plan and coordinate the testing, installation, and implementation of new developments. You will provide technical guidance in designing coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining solutions or application with COTS software. You will establish troubleshooting procedures, and document solutions to common problems for reference by others. You will conduct preliminary analysis of business processes for which applications of solutions are being developed. You will consult with customers to refine functional requirements and translate functional requirements into design specifications.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security SECRET clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position requires which requires a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person selected for this position. I am willing and able to submit to a SCHR check.
  • You must be willing and able to work an uncommon tour of duty (may include weekend, nights, overtime, or holidays).
  • You must be willing to obtain and maintain the DoD Cybersecurity Workforce certifications in accordance with the most current Department of Navy and United States Marine Corps cybersecurity policy guidance within six months of employment.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing IT systems analysis, producing database design schema for data management systems, and managing application software; to include defining, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining new software tools and databases, programming specifications relevant to the design, integration and implementation of cloud-based COTS solutions, consulting with customers to identify and specify requirements.
