About the Position: This position is located within the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center on Fort Cavazos. Assists the Physical Security Officer in production of access control badges, programing badges for access, and ensuring the integrity of the Access Control Policy.

Duties

Incumbent carries out responsibilities independently under the supervision of the physical security officer, performs duties as the MEDCEN Identification Badge Production and Maintenance Specialist. Performs a variety of recordkeeping, reporting, and informational duties in support of the organization's security program. Responsible for managing, distributing, and monitoring the administrative duties for the CAC facility. Serves as issuing officer, with signature authority, ensures the accuracy of privilege authorizations. Coordinates directly with the DEERS Support Office; Defense Manpower Data Center; and the RAPIDS Assistance Center as well as the DA proponent to resolve related problems. Responsible for ensuring essential operating hardware and supplies are maintained such as workstation, various ID Card applications, ID Cards, printing and laminating supplies. Ensures proper functioning of finger print reader, scanner and camera. Maintains time/attendance records for civilian staff Answers telephonic and on-site inquiries at the facility entrance identifying patient and visitor needs and assisting as required.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must possess a secret security clearance.
  • Incumbent is subject to irregular duty schedule to cover 24 hours, 7 days a week operations
  • Required to work nights, weekends and holidays. Work involves mandatory overtime.
