Duties

Supervise a team of employees and volunteers tasked with performing Recreation Fee Program related duties including assigning work, preparing schedules, evaluating work performance, effect minor disciplinary measures, interview candidates for positions in the unit; recommend appointment, promotion, or reassignment to such positions. The incumbent performs assignments in accordance with all regulations governing the handling of government funds and separation of duties. Serve as a technical authority for the resolution of especially difficult or sensitive technical problems associated with the collection, deposit, tracking, and expenditure of fee revenue and donations. Test reservation system functionality in automated reservation systems such as Recreation.gov and report findings as appropriate. Prepare or update operating manuals and/or standard operating procedures for the implementation of fee related systems, processes, and procedures.

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-12/26/2023-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 for each federal position listed as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of qualifying experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-08 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Examples of specialized experience include: leading others in fee collection related duties as well as technical abilities; assisting with hiring, supervising, scheduling, and managing others involved in fee collection, money handling, and/or visitor orientation programs; providing technical or programmatic assistance on accounting, auditing, budget, and/or revenue collection; resolve fee program planning issues; assisting with identifying fee program/project needs; assisting with programmatic audits. You must include hours per week worked. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
