You will serve as a Supervisory Equipment Specialist in the Propulsion Division within the Source Development Department, NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT.

Duties
You will preside over the day-to-day operation of the Propulsion Division.
You will be directly responsible for the performance of equipment specialists.
You will monitor overall quality of division's source development and full screen efforts by sampling completed packages.
You will identify systemic problems and develop and implement strategies to correct deficiencies.
You will serve as point of contact with supervisory and lead engineers internally, responsible for review of critical safety item (CSI) Source Approval Request (SAR) packages.
You will establish and ensure proper maintenance of internal databases designed to supply required information/statistics for source development reports.
You will analyze the division's processes as related to new technologies (e.g., electronic transfer of information) to determine whether use of such innovations would improve or maintain the level of division performance.
You will make recommendations -based on your own analyses- relative to the overall NAVSUP program to higher level to promote positive trends.
You will function as division's source development policy liaison to higher level engineering and source development management.
You will analyze and coordinate the completion of projects and responses of questions levied by higher NAVSUP authority and external agencies.
You'll provide direct program management support, overseeing/monitoring results of various reviews, including preliminary and final design review, contractor testing, data development, and coordination of various government facility testing.
You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- Acquisition Workforce (AWF) members must complete 80 hours of Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) every two (2) years. Workforce members are encouraged to earn their CLPs by completing Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Credentials.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates a master knowledge and versatile background in engineering theory and application related to aviation supply system items along with comprehensive knowledge of pertinent policies, regulations and procedures in order to specify and interpret engineering requirements including the provisioning, the technical aspects of inventory management, and the application of the integrated logistics support discipline throughout an equipment life cycle. I have a knowledge of all regulations and policies for DOD used to provide engineering consulting services to personnel performing and executing a variety of engineering projects related to aviation components. I am able to communicate well both orally and in writing. Specific work experience must demonstrate some or all of the following duties: 1) Ensuring effective and efficient application of resources and utilization of appropriate technical management and planning support to ensure material availability and maximization of various readiness indications; 2) Evaluating work performance of subordinates, providing advice, counsel and instructions to employees on work and administrative matters; 3) Collecting, analyzing, interpreting and developing resolutions for technical and controversial issues relating to engineering and technical matters; 4) Applying a knowledge of organizational missions, objectives, procedures and regulatory limits to ensure quality assurance and the efficient and effective operation of a division; and 5) Utilizing a knowledge of aircraft airframes/propulsion systems repair.
