You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Waterfront Operations Department, Surface Operations Division, (Code 103), Hawaii Regional Maintenance Center (HRMC) at PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

You will provide Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) in both the advance planning and execution phases, develop and review technical documents, determine work requirements, establish material support needs and timelines and validate cost estimates. You will ensure ILS functions and efforts of all applicable elements, develop plans, review overall logistics policies, implement and maintain control of instructions and procedures for the management of project material. You will coordinate and collect all material related data from cognizant stakeholders to support material data calls and briefings (which may include inventory of parts). You will engage in production and associated meetings to provide relative data to project material management and cradle-to-grave transportation/shipment of ordered material. You will maintain a database and coordinate, review, monitor and assess reports of item/system deficiencies, failures or malfunctions to ensure investigative efforts result in updated maintenance documentation for accountability and resolution.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Work requires occasional shipboard investigation tasks involving considerable walking, climbing and crawling in and around equipment and systems and standing for several hours at a time on hard steel decks also occurs regularly during ship visits.
  • This position requires approximately 10% temporary duty travel.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing integrated logistics support and providing guidance on material requirements, sources and prices for overhaul, alteration and repair of shipboard equipment and systems to meet mission objectives.
