This position is located in the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, Center for Evidence and Practice Improvement, Division of U.S. Preventive Services Task Force. The duty location for this position is in Rockville, MD and is not eligible for remote work.

Duties
As a Physician in the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), Center for Evidence and Practice Improvement (CEPI), Division of U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (DUSPSTF). The Division of U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (DUSPSTF) provides scientific administrative, and dissemination support for the independent U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, enabling the Task Force to make evidence-based recommendations on clinical preventive services.
Your major duties and responsibilities include:
Serving as a recognized expert within the areas of primary care and clinical preventive services.
Providing medical expertise, consultation, technical review, and advisory assistance to other components of AHRQ, DHHS and private sector organizations such as managed care organizations, academic institutions, professional organizations, and clinical providers regarding the delivery of clinical preventive services and primary health care services.
Serving as a Program Official for extramural grants related to clinical preventive services, the care of complex patients, and improving primary health care services.
Providing logistic and scientific support to the USPSTF by serving as a Physician on topics before the Task Force

Requirements
- U. S. Citizenship is required.
- Males ages 18 through 25 must be registered with the Selective Service.

- PHS Commissioned Corps applicants must submit current personnel orders.

OPM Individual Occupational Requirements for the 0602 series:
A. Degree: You must have a Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association, Association of American Medical Colleges, Liaison Committee on Medical Education, Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
OR
B. Degree from Foreign Medical School: You must provide a Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school and must provide documentation that the applicant's education and medical knowledge is equivalent to accredited schools in the United States. Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country.

Documentation that verifies successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.
AND
Graduate Training: Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, a candidate must have had at least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, i.e., a 1-year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training.
For purposes of this standard, graduate training programs include only those internship, residency, and fellowship programs that are approved by accrediting bodies recognized within the United States or Canada. Descriptions of such programs are described below.

An internship program involves broadly based clinical practice in which physicians acquire experience in treating a variety of medical problems under supervision (e.g., internal medicine, surgery, general practice, obstetrics-gynecology, or pediatrics). Such programs are in hospitals or other institutions accredited for internship training by a recognized body of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
A residency program involves training in a specialized field of medicine in a hospital or an institution accredited for training in the specialty by a recognized body of the American Medical Association (AMA) or Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
A fellowship program involves advanced training (beyond residency training) in a given medical specialty in either a clinical or research setting in a hospital or an institution accredited in the United States for such training.
AND
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE GS-14 LEVEL: You must have an additional 4 years of graduate training in the specialty of the position to be filled or equivalent experience and training. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; community; student; social). If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
