Duties
Provides technical assistance and training to all users of Transportation Pay systems and acts as the point of contact for issues with hardware and/or software within Transportation Pay.
Performs troubleshooting of operational problems and answers user questions about procedural, operational, and technical issues about problems with on-line programs, erroneous or incomplete data on reports or other hardware/software problems.
Maintains security and user access records. Keeps inventory/hand receipts on all ADP equipment in the directorate. Periodically screens all ADP equipment to ensure only legal software is installed.
Receives, distributes, inventories and maintains ADP equipment and software for Trans Pay. Moves and sets up personal computers to
include insertion of circuit boards in CPU’s installing disk drives, loading software and attaching cables as requested
Performs LAN Administration functions to include assigning a user for a CPU and changing NT passwords to match user’s Novell
password. Maps/Remaps keyboard within different programs.
Keeps a spreadsheet on whom has what CPU, Monitor, and Printer. Signs for new equipment and checks Serial numbers and Bar Codes are accurate. Performs Information Manager functions.
Provides on the job training for Trans Pay personnel regarding general operating and sign-on procedures, data entry, various queries,
examination processes, etc.

Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-06) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as providing assistance and training to all users of the transportation pay systems, maintaining and controlling user access to automated systems, controlling and coordinating hardware and communication equipment, maintaining a spreadsheet and hand receipts for all ADP equipment assigned to trans pay and requesting repairs to the equipment when necessary.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-06 or higher grade in Federal Service.

Education
GS-07 Substitution of Education for Experience: One full year of graduate level education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience required when it is directly related to the work of the position being filled. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
