About the Position: TACOM is located at the Detroit Arsenal in Warren, Michigan which is in Detroit's largest suburb located about 15 miles north of downtown. The area offers world-class museums, art galleries, concert halls, golf courses, several prestigious universities, and collegiate and professional athletic venues.

Duties

Serves as the top technical authority on civilian and military personnel matters, and the Command's principal staff officer responsible for program planning and executing policy/operational aspects of the total human resources management program. Provides management advisory services to General Officers, SES, and high-grade managers on theories, philosophies, and principles of sound human resources management in consonance with controlling laws, directives, regulations, and policies. Provides administrative, technical and managerial supervision to subordinate division and branch chiefs, as well as team leaders. Maintains a continuing review, analysis and evaluation of all phases and aspects of the personnel programs of the Command.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • This position has a data analytics requirement. The incumbent must meet all requirements for data analytics level 2 certification within 36 months of being placed on the position.
  • TDY travel is occasionally required.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
