You will serve as a Aircraft Mechanic in the Fleet Readiness Center Mid Atlantic of FRC SE DET MIDLANT OCEANA.
Duties
You will overhaul and repair parts, accessories, and components of hydraulic systems, air conditioning systems, flight control systems, and heating and ventilation systems to maintain functionality.
You will make adjustments and settings (e.g., cable tension, seat settings) in accordance with established specifications.
You will use standard disassembly and overhaul processing directives to determine the extent or type of aircraft disassembly, repair, or overhaul required.
You will check specifications in work orders or repair manuals to verify aircraft work meets requirements
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex tasks including: 1) Perform maintenance and repair of fixed and rotary wing aircraft systems, airframes, components and assemblies; 2) Overhaul, repair parts, accessories, and components of hydraulic/pneudraulic systems, environmental control systems, flight control systems, and vent systems; 3) Install, adjust, align, troubleshoot and perform final functional and operation tests on major aircraft systems, their assemblies, components, and prototypes; 4) Read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams; and 5) Knowledge of the makeup, operation, installation and adjustment of major interrelated and/or integrated aircraft systems, subsystems and assemblies. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.
