You will serve as a Inventory Management Specialist in the Public Works Department of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Duties
You will take action on material requirements for maintenance, utilities and transportation equipment and personnel in concentrated areas.
You will assist the team to analyze material management programs, develop automated or improved manual systems and implement proposed program changes at their assigned installation/s.
You will respond timely to inquiries, audits and inspections concerning material program resources
utilization.
You will provide guidance to technical personnel in identifying replacement, obsolete, or out of stock items.
You will coordinate and review proposed material request/requirements, identifying
potential problem items for validity, and make quantitative adjustments.
You will examine local and supply system stock positions from a variety of material, technical, and management data files.
You will make inquiries at other sites and government and commercial sources, for
material availability, and initiates appropriate procurement actions
You will carry out supply program planning, management, and evaluation, evaluating budget requirements and funding availability/priorities to satisfy material program operations.
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Knowledge of inventory management and accuracy policies and procedures 2) Knowledge of supply system operations and procedures 3) Must have knowledge of materials and equipment used by PublicWorks facilities, utilities and transportation 4) Knowledge of safety and hazardous material regulations, processes and procedures 5) Continually reviews and analyzes the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of the broad range of supply support operations performed by NAVFAC.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree
OR
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled.
