About the Position: This position is with the 9th Mission Support Command, Theater Sustainment Group, Regional Command, Pay Support Office located at Fort Shafter Flats, Hawaii.
Duties
Perform comprehensive review of master military pay account transactions for Army Reserve service members ensuring compliance with policies, pay entitlement laws, regulations, precedent decisions and procedures.
Resolve complex military reserve pay cases such as under/over payments, leave and separation adjustments, bonus eligibility, combat zone special pay, locality pay, overseas entitlements, hazardous duty pay, severance pay, and incapacitation pay.
Process Wounded Warrior pay transactions in accordance with consolidated guidance ensuring standardization, quality outcomes, and consistency with seamless transitions of the Soldier’s duty status from points of entry to disposition.
Research current and prior pay regulations, laws, and guidance to resolve complex pay actions.
Provide technical guidance to organizations and personnel from the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), and Comptroller General Decisions.
Utilize military automated systems to create, review and audit military reserve pay transactions.
Review system output and error reports to determine cause, trends, and other statistical information.
Requirements

GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing eligibility for military pay actions utilizing a variety of pay regulations, requirements, procedures, and operations; utilizing automated pay systems to process military pay actions; researching and making necessary corrections associated with erroneous military pay actions; and processing non-routine pay adjustments such as special entitlements, special pay, indebtedness or under payments.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
