This position is located within the Program Management Branch (AVP-220) of the Federal Aviation Administration's Office of Accident Investigation and Prevention (AVP). The Program Manager leads safety programs, including the Aviation Safety Reporting Program (ASRP) in support of the NASA Aviation Safety Reporting System (ASRS) and the FAA's annual General Aviation and Part 135 Survey program.
Duties
The Program Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective management of projects and programs to provide for the continuous delivery of value to the aviation safety mission. Serves as a recognized subject matter expert in program management functions. Provides leadership for highly complex and challenging activities under the minimal direction of a manager. Work activities typically directly impact the objectives of one or more organizational units and subdivisions and often impact the objectives of the FAA. The work typically is reviewed only at completion for success in achieving planned results. Has broad discretion to ensure the alignment of organizational goals and policies and the requirements of the projects and/or other work activities.
