This position is located within the Program Management Branch (AVP-220) of the Federal Aviation Administration's Office of Accident Investigation and Prevention (AVP). The Program Manager leads safety programs, including the Aviation Safety Reporting Program (ASRP) in support of the NASA Aviation Safety Reporting System (ASRS) and the FAA's annual General Aviation and Part 135 Survey program.

Duties

The Program Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective management of projects and programs to provide for the continuous delivery of value to the aviation safety mission. Serves as a recognized subject matter expert in program management functions. Provides leadership for highly complex and challenging activities under the minimal direction of a manager. Work activities typically directly impact the objectives of one or more organizational units and subdivisions and often impact the objectives of the FAA. The work typically is reviewed only at completion for success in achieving planned results. Has broad discretion to ensure the alignment of organizational goals and policies and the requirements of the projects and/or other work activities.

Experience monitoring and reporting on the earned value of activities against plans.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.Current/Former Federal Employees must submit an SF-50.If the selecting official decides to interview any employee on the selection list for a vacancy, then all who remain under consideration for the position at that point in the process must be interviewed. If the selection list is shortened to a best qualified list through a comparative process, then the best qualified list shall be considered to be the selection list.Writing Sample: Candidates who are invited to interview for this position will be required to provide a writing sample upon interview scheduling. Candidates will be informed of the writing sample topics, requirements, and deadline at the time of scheduling. The writing sample is a mandatory requirement for the interview and candidates who do not meet this requirement will not receive further consideration.
