Position within the Office of the Chief, Medical Administration Service (MAS) that has primary responsibility for auditing scheduled appointments and providing quality assurance of scheduling operations. The information to be audited is recorded in VIST A/PIMS software applications under the management of MAS, job duties involve staff administrative analytical and evaluative work directly related to program operations, as well as management and organizational efficiency and productivity.

Duties

Major duties include (but not limited to): Serves as the functional expert for all matters relating to outpatient scheduling. Coordinates scheduling audit reports and results. Participates on committees to serve as a subject matter expert interpreting data and/or recognized trends in data. Demonstrates tact, diplomacy, and considerable skill in support of strong customer service and coordination of work with individuals at all levels of the organization. Uses Microsoft Office applications to create end-user reports and/or data set files using data extracted. Demonstrates analytic ability sufficient to analyze audit data and support recommendations to clinical and administrative leaders. Stays abreast of Policies and Regulations related to scheduling. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/18/2023. GS-06 Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: GS-06 Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Audits scheduled appointments for accuracy with current regulations. Provides guidance and clarification to clinical and administrative personnel regarding scheduling policies and procedures. Adheres to current and local policies related to outpatient scheduling. Coordinates scheduling audit reports and results. Demonstration of strong data analysis skills and the ability to extract, correlate, and manage multiple data sources for completing scheduling audits. Education

As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-5 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.
