About the Position: Located in a double occupancy administrative office on the 7th deck. Working hours are 0730-1600. The applicant will achieve a great working knowledge on preparing military correspondence, retrieving data, compiling reports, record keeping, and preparing for meetings/training at all levels (e.g., executive briefs).

Duties
Prepare internal and external correspondence to CDC and other DOD agencies.
Check outgoing correspondence for spelling, grammar and standard format to assure continuity of services by all departments/clinics requiring IP services.
Maintain copies of all incoming and outgoing correspondence.
Under the direction of the Infection Prevention Program Manager, pulls reports and compiles data for use establishing compliance with Joint Commission, MEDIG, OSHA and SOHME regulations.
Raw data is entered into IP database and National Healthcare Security Networks. Maintain IP survey metrics for BUMED and leadership reporting.
The incumbent prepares reports, schedules assist to BHCs/external customers, schedules monthly training sessions to include required training material.
Also serves as Department Training Representative (DTR), maintains and orders supplies, updates SharePoint and correspondence listings.
The incumbent tracks and manages all command level required training to ensure departmental compliance (i.e. ESAMS bloodborne pathogen and annual TB training)
Functions as a recorder for various directorate and higher level meetings or committees, boards, councils, and workgroups.

- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing clerical and routine administrative duties in a medical setting utilizing automated systems, data processing systems and electronic equipment to generate maintain and produce reports and correspondence; and/or coordinating, maintaining, and updating policies and procedures, calendars, and files. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
