This position is located in the Business Office Branch under the Division of Administrative Services, at
Crownpoint Service Unit, Crownpoint, New Mexico. The position provides administrative support in
coordinating and monitoring all third-party reimbursement activity in several services within the branch.
Duties
Receives visitors, officials, telephone calls on behalf of the supervisor and ascertains the nature of the business, and determines appropriate course of action.
Responds to routine and non-technical requests for information, such as the status of reports, impending dates for matters requiring approval, dates of meetings and conferences.
Makes travel arrangements, prepares and ensures travel orders and vouchers have accurate computation of all costs of reimbursable expenses and per diems.
Maintains current personnel folders per policy, ensuring that all staff is up-to-date on mandatory in services and /or makes arrangements for attendance.
Serves as a primary timekeeper using the timecards and automated timekeeping system by updating employees' time and attendance; posting overtime, comp time, travel time and correct errors.
Enrolls providers with third-party payers.
Assists providers with enrolling, credentialing, and/or re-credentialing for third-party payers.
Maintains and distributes up-to-date provider listing for coding, billing, and collections purposes.
Performs other Administrative Support duties as assigned.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:GS-05: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level; OR, (4) years above high school. Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: See Specialized Experience.
Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower grade level. Examples of the type of experience that will be credited are: performing a variety of clerical/administrative support duties. This experience would include such things as planning and carrying out the work of the office; knowledge to carry out and coordinate, in a timely and effective manner; procedures or operations applied to clerical assignments; working independently; locating and summarizing information from files and documents; the use of automated systems equipment and timekeeping duties.

Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
Education
Successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite is creditable at grades GS-3 through GS-5 for all positions. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.
Combining Education and Experience: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements at grades GS-5 and below.
For GS-5 level positions, only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.
