Duties

Major Duties: This is not an all-inclusive list A HR SPEC (MILITARY), GS-0201-9, Mission is to identify technical and leadership talent in Soldiers across the Minnesota National Guard through building relationships between MNNG branch managers, Soldiers, and Officer Strength Management Recruitment Office. Once talent is identified, we advise leaders and stakeholders on requirements concern career progression, timing, and organizational needs to maintain appropriate levels of highly technical experts across the force. You are a member of a team so all tasks identified may be accomplished through mutual support from the WO recruiter. 1. Talent Identification and Relationship Building: Proactively work with MNNG branch managers and soldiers to identify individuals with high potential for technical and leadership roles. Develop and maintain strong relationships with these key stakeholders to facilitate talent spotting. 2. Advisory Role: Provide informed advice to leaders and stakeholders on career progression opportunities and timing. This includes understanding the unique needs of the organization and aligning them with the career aspirations and skills of identified soldiers. 3. HR Packet Building and Submission: Assist in the meticulous preparation and submission of HR packets for potential warrant officers. Ensure that all documentation is accurate, complete, and presented in a manner that showcases the strengths and potential of the candidates. 4. Organizational Needs Analysis: Continuously assess the organizational needs of the MNNG, focusing on maintaining a balanced force of highly skilled technical experts. Advise on potential gaps and suggest proactive recruitment strategies. 5. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Warrant Officer recruiter, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in task management. Offer mutual support to ensure all responsibilities are effectively met by the team. 6. Progress Tracking and Reporting: Monitor the progress of candidates throughout the recruitment process, providing regular updates to relevant parties. Maintain detailed records to track the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and identify areas for improvement. 7. Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between soldiers, branch managers, and the Officer Strength Management Recruitment Office. Ensure clear and consistent communication across all levels to facilitate smooth talent management processes. 8. Continuous Learning and Development: Stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in HR management and military recruitment. Participate in relevant training and workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge in these areas. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MILITARY GRADES: ENLISTED SGT-SSG & WARRANT OFFICER W1-W2 Failure to obtain a compatible MOS may result in termination of employment. GENERAL AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-07 level or the equivalent which provided a basic working knowledge of National Guard missions, organizations, and personnel programs. Must have a basic knowledge and experiences of personnel programs gained in a classroom or as an on-the-job trainee. Have knowledge-based competency of human resources business elements and can discuss terminology, concepts, principles, and issues related to this competency. Experienced in using references and resources.

Education

EDUCATION: Must have a high school diploma or a general education development (GED) diploma. An undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university is optimum.
