THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a SMALL ARMS REPAIRER-TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD1227000 and is part of the KY CSMS, National Guard.
Duties
As a SMALL ARMS REPAIRER-TITLE 32, WG-6610-9, you will disassemble weapons, assemblies, subassemblies and other components. Examine for defects, misalignment and malfunctions. Replace barrels, firing pins, springs, trigger mechanisms, shell ejectors, and other parts/assemblies. Modify small weapons by replacing worn or obsolete parts. Perform accurization of national match weapons on a limited basis which includes selecting, fitting, and altering parts. Perform overhaul, maintenance, and repair on a variety of small arms. Diagnose and identify mechanical deficiencies/ malfunctions of weapons. Use micrometer to measure altered tolerances and make additional adjustments as required. Use pre-set specifications to ensure that critical operating tolerances are met. Test fire weapons to ensure that they meet desired performance requirements. Responsible for accountability, storage and security of arms and other sensitive items while they are kept for repair. May serve as a commodity inspector during Command Maintenance Management evaluations (COMET) or as a member of a Maintenance Assistance Instruction Team (MAIT). Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
Experience reading and interpreting instructions, repair manual, specifications and drawings. Experience using testing devices, measuring instruments, hand tools and equipment.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have 18 months experience repairing, overhauling, and rebuilding small arms. Experience inspecting small arms to diagnose malfunctions, wear and/or damage. Experience performing accurization procedures on weapons to improve their performance. Experience applying technical manuals, regulations, specifications and drawings to determine operation, assembly and tolerances of weapons. Experience using and maintaining hand/power tools and gages (such as drills, files, gages, measuring tools, etc.)
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
