You will serve as a PROJECT DIRECTOR in the CPI Program Team, Employee Engagement Branch, Assistant Chief of Staff G-1 of MARINE CORPS LOGISTICS COMMAND.

Duties

You will prepare BPM artifacts and documents in accordance with directives and policies. You will also review and analyze workflow methods and business processes. You will develop detailed plans and direct, mentor, or conduct complicated management projects, reviews, and research and provide advisory services on major issues. You will serve as primary functional expert advisor and analyst in support of the development of a strategic and operational level Continuous Process Improvement (CPI)/Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Program. You will define scope, interface requirements, monitor internal/external performance measures, and evaluate/coordinate execution of strategies for major strategic/operational CPI/LSS initiatives. You will serve as expert planner, analyst, and advisor to management on project cost analysis and/or commercial issues for key programs. You will manage, monitor, evaluate, and coordinate the execution of major complex, programs/projects that may encompass new and emerging technologies.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Must be Black Belt trained in Lean Six Sigma within one year of selection.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing and evaluating major aspects of mission-oriented programs, and recommending and implementing improvements to productivity, effectiveness and efficiency. Must be Black Belt trained in Lean Six Sigma within one year of selection.
