This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA-Risk Management Directorate (RE63).
Duties
Plans, organizes, and performs evaluations of Cloud information systems’ cybersecurity architecture to identify security gaps in Information Technology architecture resulting in recommendations for inclusion into the risk mitigation strategy.
Serves as overall Senior Computer Scientist in IT cybersecurity engineering and scientific area of intrusion detection, network performance, and vulnerability and risk assessments for Cloud hosted environments.
Performs innovative research and interfaces with representatives of DISA, DOD, and industry leaders about Cloud cyber defense technology about cyber defense and intrusion technology as it relates to DISA and DOD Cloud-hosted systems and environments.
Identifies, evaluates, and assesses applications and operating systems of network resources and analyzes anomalies in network traffic or design.
Ensures proper test design which will allow full evaluation of system/equipment against known, new, and emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
Provides technical advice and guidance concerning the technical adequacy and suitability of test plans.
Assesses the level of risk and provides recommendations on appropriate mitigation activities.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Leading remote and on-site red team operations to discover exploitable technical and non-technical vulnerabilities using adversary-based tactics, techniques, and procedures
