The position is located in the Office of Communications and Public Liaison (OCPL), in the Office of the Director (OD), National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Duties
Gather, analyze, write, and edit communications materials and producing output to everchanging
web-based platforms and environments
Keep abreast of NIH initiatives and program changes and recommends additions or changes to NIH websites to reflect important issues, program and administrative changes
Ensure that NIH digital content is up-to-date, accurate, accessible, effective and relevant to stakeholders.
Conceptualize, develop, maintain and enhance website and other digital communications properties, often times without direct management and oversight of specific tasks.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.
- Employment is subject to the successful completion of the pre-appointment process (i.e., background investigation, verification of qualifications and job requirements, completion of onboarding forms, submission of required documents, etc.)
- Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.

Qualifications
You qualify at the GS-13 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: development and maintenance of visitor relations, outreach and program development, including the preparation of tours and programs, talking points, fact sheets, handouts and exhibits, the maintenance of resources that support the efforts of the tours, special events and exhibit programs, including databases, a speakers bureau, and coordination of publication of NIH written communication materials for NIH visitors.
