Duties
You will troubleshoots by checking or tracing circuits, locates and diagnoses trouble, repairs or replaces parts reinstalls.
You will make adjustments and solves problems by use of electrical formulas for computing voltages, resistances, amperages, capacitance and frequencies.
You will repair and install line starters; single stage, multi-stage and reversing controllers.
You will test and repair electric equipment and appliances.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1) Repairing and maintaining a variety of complete electrical systems and equipment such as, series, parallel, and compound circuits for single and multiple phase alternating current of varying voltage, amperage, and frequency; 2) Wiring systems in industrial complexes and in buildings; 3) Working from blueprints and drawings that are used in the electrical trade; 4) to Reading and understand the various types of wiring diagrams, sketches; and 5) Modifying systems by adding, altering, or removing components in order to standardize or alter the purpose of the equipment or to incorporate new features.
