This position is located in the Reserve Fleets, Office of Ship Operations, Office of the Deputy Associate Administrator for Federal Sealift, Office of the Associate Administrator for Strategic Sealift, Maritime Administration (MARAD).

Qualifications

Qualifications for the position are based on the training, experience, or other requirements that determine which applicants would be able to perform satisfactorily in the position to be filled. To qualify for the WG-10, your resume should include experience equal or equivalent to the following: Ability to operate self-propelled crane barges, engaged in the loading and unloading of cargo, equipment, materials, and at times even personnel, in support of work in the Fleet. Ability to operate and pilot Fleet craft and participating with towing vessels of various sizes out of the fleet and intra-fleet while exercising responsibility for maneuvering vessels, attaching vessels, attaching lines, and issuing instructions and directions to accomplish ship movements. Ability to fuel assigned fleet craft, factors of wind, tide, current nature of river bottom, accurate and timely reporting on deficiencies, interaction, communications, cooperation with onboard personnel, and the requirements during all phases of operation.
