Duties
As an Program Specialist you will:
Act as a liaison with the human resources office and coordinate personnel actions.
Provide guidance and management support to the Global Health Center in the areas of position management, by creating new positions, managing vacancies, initiating position transfers, and assisting with budgeting.
Monitor, coordinate, and track all on-going and projected actions and continuously updates the staff.
Accomplish special projects through analysis and review of problems, issues, or program requirements.
Determine what information is required and collect data from various sources in order to render informed recommendations/alternatives.
Solve problems related to special projects that involve administrative or support issues.
Provide administrative support on a wide variety of actions and problems across teams, such as position management functions like validating personnel action data, vacancy review, position description review, organization structures, and other position management services.
Participate in the implementation and planning of new initiatives and projects that will enhance the overall effectiveness of administrative management of the organization.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level, which must include the following experience: providing program support work, such as planning, research, analysis, correspondence, communication, and liaison activities.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
