This position is assigned to the Patient Business Office (PBO), Northern Arizona VA Health Care System (NAVAHCS), Prescott, AZ, providing support to the PBO Service Line Manager on the daily operations of a large administration service.
Duties

Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:
Receives, schedules, refers, and contacts staff members, government agencies, and the general public.
Answers calls and responds accordingly when the requested information concerns routine and procedural requirements.
Processes incoming and outgoing material such as correspondences, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communication.
Composes letters and reports and reviews correspondence for accuracy and completeness.
Serves as a recorder for all service line meetings and committees.
Maintains an activity calendar for the service line manager.
Schedules appointments and conferences and coordinates meetings.
Obtains and monitors the use of services, supplies, and equipment for the office.
Functions as timekeeper for the service.
Prepares purchase orders and maintains files.
Performs other related duties as required.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped them with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-4 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: receiving visitors and telephone calls to the office; scheduling appointments; coordinating meetings and conferences; preparing correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communication; preparing travel arrangements; and maintaining files. OR
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE (Transcript Required): Successful completion of (4) years of education above the high school level. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. One year of full-time undergraduate study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial or technical school. OR
COMBINING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (Transcript Required): Combination of successfully completed post high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.
TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items such as books, papers, and files. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
