This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. Duties

The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Supervisor, exercising technical and administrative supervision over mechanics engaged in aircraft electrical maintenance activities, enforcing schedules and directing work priorities over various skilled mechanics. Duties: 1. Performs work planning and direction responsibilities. 2. Reserve Training: Administers the reserve training and associated programs, ensuring consistent standards throughout the flight for traditional reservists and ARTs. 3. Performs administration responsibilities. 4. Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-2600 Electronic Equipment Installation and Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is the ability to lead or supervise. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in UTAs. The incumbent's regular assignments are ART duties; however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities 2. May be required to fly in commercial and military aircraft to perform temporary/permanent duty assignments. 3. The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license may be required for the position. 4. Performs other related duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY CONTROLS: Receives work assignments orally or through written schedules or plans from Specialist Section Chief. Position has first level supervisory authority over the operations of the Specialist Section shift. Incumbent uses established policies and procedures in carrying out supervisory duties and responsibilities. Position directly supervises Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanics at the WG-12 level. FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Heavy lifting (45-79 pounds). Moderate carrying (15-44 lbs). Hours of straight pulling are 1 hour per week. Hours of pushing is 1 hour per week. Reaching above shoulder. Operation of crane, truck, tractor, or motor vehicle may be required. Ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously. Near vision correctable at 13 inches to 16 inches to Jaeger 1 to 4. Far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and 20/40 in the other. Both eyes required. Depth perception.
