You will serve as a TRAINING SPECIALIST in the FIELD LEARNING STANDARDS OFFICE of the CENTER FOR SUBMARINE.

Duties

You will develop spreadsheets to report current status of training. You will capture training expenditures to track annual training accomplishments. You will collect and arrange material in conducting training courses for assigned subject matter area. You will analyze issues and provide solutions to administrative or training problems. You will use rules and regulations to provide a framework for technical guidance given to management in establishing new or modified training procedures, systems, or controls. You will develop metrics to evaluate the performance of program training.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Displaying a keen understanding of conventional and established training methods, techniques, and tools to maintain training courses and materials, evaluate the design and delivery of training programs, and/or complete special projects; 2) Demonstrating considerable awareness of policies and methodologies used to evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs, modify ongoing programs, and implement new training processes; 3) Exhibiting an understanding of government procedures in the areas of personnel management, fiscal procedures, the rating structure, budget/contract administration, and officer/enlisted technical and team training to assess training needs; and 4) Utilizing instructional technology such as interactive courseware, virtual training, and computer-based training to determine best alternatives for delivery of training.
