This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for health systems specialists to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This is a permanent position for a Health System Specialist located on Shaw AFB, SC.

Duties

Coordinating all Medical Soldier Readiness Processing (Medical SRP) in support of the Third Army, United States Army/Coalition Forces Land Component Command and attached military units. Plans and implements medical readiness reporting procedures. Assists in the development of policy, standards, and procedures for reporting unit/individual Medical Readiness status for all assigned units. Maintains medical readiness data in the Medical Readiness Protection System (MEDPROS). Analyzes MEDPROS data in order to make recommendations and formulate projections in regards to medical readiness. Manages the Third Army’s Unit Medical Readiness Program and implements the program for Third Army and subordinate units. Performs MSC regulatory Staff Assistance Visits (SAV) and Organizational Inspection Program (OIP) visits as required.

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of experience which includes 1) coordinating Medical Soldier Readiness Processing (Medical SRP) for deployments and redeployments; 2) Maintaining a medical readiness automated system (i.e. Medical Readiness Protection System (MEDPROS); 3) Analyzing a wide variety of medical readiness subjects in order to provide recommendations and projections; 4) Managing a medical readiness program for a command and it's subordinate commands. This definition of experience is typical of the work performed at the next lower level (GS-07) OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Management or Healthcare Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
