Duties
Develop policies and procedures of archives management and operations of the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC).
Ensure access to information by designing a record management architecture and a consistent and predictable list of metadata fields and terms to describe a record.
Devise and employs procedures for precise and thorough issuance of documents with appropriate security classifications.
Conduct research to determine the location of requested information and if the data is releasable.

In order to qualify, you must meet the Education and Experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Education:
Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in archival science; or bachelor's degree (or higher degree) with a major that includes 18 semester hours in archival science, history and/or in political science or government, and 12 semester hours in one or any combination of the following: archival science, history, American civilization, economics, political science, public administration, or government. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
AND
Specialized Experience:
One Year specialized experience which includes: 1) Maintaining all related electronic archival databases that document and account for the millions of pages Federal records (such as USSOCOM, all ARMY Special Operations records) which has a variety of functional responsibilities and extensive or intricate organizational structure. 2) Capturing data and ensuring preservation of all types and forms of physical and digital media. 3) Implementing a declassification review program. 4) Using professional research skills, conducting and assists in the research of Army Special Operations' historical products, articles, information papers and historical studies.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
