Duties

Develop and apply methods to eliminate or control hazardous conditions which occur during training. Evaluates equipment and ammunition in research and development program to determine effects. Conducts Quarterly Safety meetings. Participates in the development of standards for Army Special Operations Forces (ARSOF) shooting facilities and range complexes.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must obtain a Secret clearance.
  • One-year probationary period may be required.
  • One-year Supervisory probationary period may be required.
  • This is a drug testing designated position. In accordance with AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
  • Employee will be required to pass a pre-employment physical examination.
  • May be required to travel TDY occasionally.
  • May be required to wear protective clothing and equipment PPE.

Knowledge in safety and occupational health management principles, practices and procedures, body of laws, regulations, and precedent decisions. 2). Experience with interfacing with OSHA to ensure Federal/DOD Safety and Health issues and regulations are adhered to.3). Advising high level leaders pertaining to the safe operation and conduct of high-risk training. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12) Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
