You will serve as a Traffic Managment Specialist in the Supply Management Department of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE. ***This Job Opportunity Announcement is using an additional online assessment tool to evaluate applicants. Duties

You will determine the most efficient and economical rates and routes for movement of freight worldwide to non-recurring points, ports, and foreign destinations. You will prepare commercial bills of lading (CBL) utilizing the web-based Electronic Transportation Acquisition Global Freight Management (ETA-GFM) System and Financial and Air Clearance Transportation System (FACTS). You will ensure outgoing shipments are properly packed, crated and marked per existing regulations. You will determine the carrier by performing cost comparisons to select the most efficient, economical and cost-efficient means.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent Traffic Management Specialist experience in the private or public sector utilizing a knowledge of the extensive body of regulations and procedures governing the shipment of materials by all modes of transportation. Examples of specialized experience must include: 1) Determining the most efficient and economical rates and routes for movement of freight worldwide to non-recurring points, ports, and foreign destinations; 2) Ensuring outgoing shipments are properly packed, crated and marked per existing regulations; 3) Prepares commercial bills of lading (CBL) utilizing the web-based Electronic Transportation Acquisition Global Freight Management (ETA-GFM) System and Financial and Air Clearance Transportation System (FACTS); and 4) Performing shipping and receiving duties pertaining to material and freight traffic and Transportation management. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

Education Substitution for Experience at the GS-09 Level:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
OR possess a master's or equivalent degree
OR have completed two full years of graduate level education leading to such a degree
OR possess an LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR a combination of education and experience as described above that equates to one year of experience
