This position is located on Fort Johnson in Leesville, Louisiana with the Community Recreation Division, Home of Heroes Recreation Center.

Duties
Supervises a staff of 3-12 employees, assigns and reviews work assignments on a daily, weekly, or longer basis. Assists with training new personnel.
Plans work schedules, approves or disapproves leave, determines performance objectives and rates performance.
Must be able to support the activity by applying a practical knowledge of recreational activities and skills in the use of recreation materials and facilities.
Works in executing recreation events, programs and services to meet the recreational needs of a diverse patronage, including a variety of multi disciplinary events, i.e., social activities, tournaments, and other major ethnic or patriotic programs.
Assures that proper security measures are taken to safeguard monies, property, equipment and facility. Assists with other recreation programs in the Recreation Center as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Qualifications
MININUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must have knowledge of wide range of recreation and sports activities, organization and structure of military units and installation sports program objectives, policies, methods and procedures to plan, organize, and coordinate activities, assist, guide and motivate military staff in carrying out their responsibilities.
2. Must have basic understanding of budget and supply functions in order to prepare input and justification of funding for supplies and equipment.
3. Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing (English).
4. Work experience or education directly related to the duties to be performed.
