What General Information Do I Need To Know About This Position?
This position is under a bargaining unit.
Salary: $64,957 (Step 1) to $84,441 (Step 10) Per Year; NOTE: First time hires to the Federal Government are typically hired at the Step 01.
Duties
As an Industry Data Analyst within the National Minerals Information Center, some of your specific duties will include:
Conducts studies of ongoing data collection activities to identify potential overlaps, gaps, or problem areas with the user community.
Process procedures are updated to keep pace with commodity data activities and information requirements.
Maintains surveillance over domestic developments to confirm accuracy in the processing activities.
Utilizes computer systems to compile, analyze, and generate statistical data, prepare narrative reports, charts, and tables.
Analyzes and evaluates commodity data, prepare summaries of minerals activities, and formulates interpretative reports for use by Bureau officials in response to requests from Congress, government, and non-governmental officials.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet one of the following to qualify for the GS-09 level:
1-year of appropriate professional experience that is equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service.
Examples of such experience may include performing non-routine computations from a variety of statistical processes; researching, analyzing, and preparing reports; coordinating and reviewing tabular reports, graphs, charts, and data for a myriad of publications and special projects for analysis and dissemination to the public.
**OR applicants may substitute successful completion of 2 years of directly related progressively higher level graduate education or master's or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.B or J.D). (36 semester hours, 54 quarter hours, or the equivalent).
