About the Position: This position serves as a Materials Handler Leader for the U.S. Army Print and Media Distribution Center. The U.S. Army Print and Media Distribution Center (APMDC) is the Department of the Army's primary provider and distributor of "authenticated" publications and print services.
Duties
Serve as a working leader of employees who perform a variety of duties concerned with the inventory control, warehousing, shipping, and fork-lifting operations of unclassified forms and publications.
Perform inventory control, warehousing, distribution, cross-picking, packing, preparation of shipping manifest documents, salvaging of unclassified forms and publications.
Notify appropriate offices of discrepancies and follow up on actions.
Pack a variety of publications and forms for shipment using prefabricated containers, mailing tubes, cushioned envelopes and other packing materials.
Pull stock for issue to include selection of appropriate shipping containers, preparing bin replenishment forms, and resolving discrepancies in stock nomenclature.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position will require the incumbent to obtain a forklift license but is not required at entry.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Materials Handler Leader without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common tasks including operating warehouse automated supply program system; plan for issue of stock in order to assign stock locations; and operate forklifts to load and unload items. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Work is performed on hard surfaces that require long periods of standing, stooping, bending, walking and climbing ladders. Incumbent frequently lifts and carries stock that weighs up to 40pounds, and occasionally lifts items weighing over 40 pounds. May be required to work at rapid paces for extended periods of time.
Work is performed inside a warehouse in a bind area. The area may be cold, drafty, damp or hot. There is considerable possibility of cuts, scrapes, strains, and bruises; falls from ladders or injury from conveyor systems and falling or dropped stock.
