Duties

Serves as a member of an Integrated Supplier Team (IST) or in a Strategic Material Sourcing Group (SMSG) and is located in the field. Responsible for the accuracy of the final results of the Time Phased Inventory Plan (TPIP) and the deployment plan. Compares supply requirements to constraints, to identify shortfalls and perform risk assessments. Performs status checks on DMSMS material for all inquiries using various systems and programs. Generates the planned orders (recommended buys-RBs) and planned arrivals (redistribution orders-RDOs). Responsible for supporting select multi- Service/Agency programs managed at a regional or national level. Provide, receive, and analyze Supplier Collaboration intelligence on DLA Direct and Customer Direct items to maximize efficiencies in meeting demands, as well as providing intelligence for use in management of supplier relationships.

Qualifications

To qualify for an Inventory Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS- 11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after- competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut- off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Apply comprehensive knowledge of inventory management policies and practices and thorough understanding of the supply management process. Perform independent analyses and resolution of highly complex issues and problems in the assigned areas of responsibility. Apply a comprehensive knowledge of the supply management process and considerable skill in study preparation such as milestone charting, forecasting, and defining team/manpower requirements. Analyze, evaluate, and develop techniques to resolve complex problems with supply and inventory management process. Collaborate and effectively communicate with various personnel both internal and external to the agency. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
