About the Position: These positions are under the supervision of the Ground Combat Support R&S Directorate. The referral list(s) generated by this announcement may be used to fill future vacancies in other organizations throughout the Integrated Logistics Support Center (ILSC) in Warren, MI.

Duties

Resolve field problems referred which require field studies, technical research, and investigation of materiel deficiencies and malfunctions. Develop integrated logistics support plans which address all of the principal elements of support related to the total system life cycle. Formulate and/or monitors the combined efforts of supporting staff, installations, and contractors to ensure optimum maintainability of assigned equipment. Resolve problems in the area of allocation of maintenance operations for assigned material to the proper echelon(s) of maintenance. Monitor periodic and special inspection of the overhaul, maintenance in storage, and storage operations being performed at field facilities.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing logistical support and guidance on maintenance procedures and engineering change proposals; providing technical assistance in the operation, testing, or maintenance of field equipment; resolving field problems through technical research/investigations of materiel deficiencies and malfunctions; utilizing logistics databases (such as LMP/Powerlog-J/COMPASS) to determine maintenance trends and input provisioning data, updates, or data extraction for weapon systems; and developing maintenance Statements of Work, Contract Data Requirements List, or National Maintenance Work Requirements. This definition of Specialized Experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the Federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Maintenance Planning and ManagementProduct Support ManagementSupport EquipmentTechnical Data Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
