You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Training Command (TRNGCMD) of TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND.
Duties
You will serve as the Assistant Security Manager responsible for providing the full spectrum of security guidance, services, and technical advice in a wide range of security functional areas.
You will research and implement security policies and assess the security posture of the Command and/or supported elements.
You will prepare and disseminate instructional material and products to increase security awareness and reinforce compliance with security policy.
You will conduct check-in and check-out procedures for all new join and departing military, civilian, and contractor employees.
You will protect classified information and immediately report suspected security violations, compromises, and spillages to the Command Security Manager.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final TOP SECRET SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications
GS-09
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector managing, coordinating and administering various matters pertaining to safeguarding information, property, personnel, operations, materials and other security related functions to provide risk reduction measures and recommendations to address identified vulnerabilities.
GS-07
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting in safeguarding information, property, personnel, operations, materials and other security related functions to ensure security measures are within policies and procedures.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify for the GS-09 position based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows:
master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify for the GS-07 position based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows:
1 full year of graduate level education
or
superior academic achievement
OR Combination: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the specialized experience requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the education requirement must equal at least 100 percent.
