Qualifications
In addition to the educational requirements, we are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-15 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-14 level defined as providing technical and scientific advice on new/existing microbiological theories, concepts, principles, standards, and/or methods; managing research programs of significant importance including development of research proposals and related quality assurance documents; and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders in developing strategies to resolve antimicrobial and/or pesticide issues.
Your application package will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1) Ability to conduct technical laboratory analyses; 2) Ability to provide technical oversight in research activities; 3) Skill in oral communication sufficient for delivering presentations, reviews, and reports; 4) Skill in written communication sufficient for preparing presentations, reviews, and reports; 5) Skill in quality assurance processes necessary for an effective research program; 6) Ability to manage a technical review process to ensure accurate scientific assessments; 7) Ability to oversee laboratory operations.

Education
You need a degree or combination of education and experience as described below to qualify for this position.
BIOLOGIST: You must have a bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited or pre-accredited college or university in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position; OR a combination of education and experience with courses equivalent to a major, as listed.
