Duties

You will administer contracts for natural resources surveys and planning. You will prepare plans for the management and protection of natural resources (e.g., sensitive plants and wildlife and their habitats). You will serve as a natural and cultural resources representative for an organization at meetings with federal and local regulatory agencies. You will adjust environmental contracts based on manpower, resources, and funding availability. You will develop alternatives to resolve problems related to resource management or environmental planning. You will develop annual or multi-year budgets for environmental programs and compliance projects within an organization. You will review environmental budget submissions for technical and fiscal accuracy. You will revise a budget to reflect impending environmental regulatory requests from various departments and tenants. You will communicate environmental information and statistical data on technical environmental issues to military and civilian communities. You will Use tact and persuasion in convincing others (i.e., contractors, military, agency personnel, or others) of the need to accomplish project goals.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing a Natural Resources Program related to the management of threatened and endangered species, development of Natural Resources Management Plans, conducting biological and terrestrial surveys and reviewing, approving and monitoring of natural resource actions, programs and projects to ensure compliance. Applicants must possess:

1. Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

2. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
