About the position: This position will be assigned to the Human Resources Office onboard Arnold AFB, TN. Work is daily Monday-Thursday from 0730-4pm, occassional Fridays Position is Regular Part Time with minimum 20 hours per week, and standard benefits This position is developmental- start at NF-2 and after completion of training requirements and satisfactory understanding of work, promotion to NF-3 Work requires some physical effort, is mostly indoor

Duties

Provides personnel and training support services for the Human Resources and Training program. Provides recruitment and placement service to all NAF activities to include receiving requests to advertise positions, fill vacant positions and assist supervisors with the web based applicant referral program. Maintains and updates the USA Staffing website for Arnold, AFB. Conducts orientation for new employees on insurance benefits, unemployment compensation, retirement, pay systems, differentials, hours of work, etc., and other related information and programs applicable to NAF employees. Provides information to supervisors and employees on such matters as pay actions, health and life insurance, as well as a wide variety of personnel actions. Maintains official employee personnel records and files. Serves as the base liaison for payroll issues with the Shared Services Center (SSC), submitting payroll adjustments, corrections, hours and leave as necessary. Submits queries and required payroll documentation via automated AFSVA MyFSS process. Provides instruction/assistance to supervisors and employees for MyMoney. program, and conducts password resets as necessary. Uses various automation and web based programs to prepare, assemble and retrieve reports. Computes rates of pay on all increases (pay adjustments and step increases) for employees in activities services to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Process a full range of personnel actions utilizing the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS). Provides technical support work in the planning, developing, preparing, coordinating and documenting for the Services training Program. Trains employees assigned to Services in short, repetitive courses, course units or briefings such as Customer Service, email/phone etiquette, Food handlers and assists employees with various DoD, Air Force and Services training requirements. Prepares and develops for supervisory approval course outlines, handouts, training aids, visual aids and other training-related document using varied functions of office automation software. Develops and maintains a comprehensive collection of training materials and equipment. Assists facility managers in developing work center training plans. Reviews facility training records. Collects and maintains statistical data. Receives, reviews, validates and processes formal and informal training requirements, certifying eligibility, fund availability. Processes TDY orders. Liaisons with external suppliers, including consultants and educational or training institutions. Processes and monitors background clearances via web based electronic security questionnaire program (NBIS) and other established local procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Applicant must have progressively responsible experience in clerical or office work that provided a thorough knowledge of administrative practices and principles. Experience must have been sufficiently demanding to demonstrate ability to perform at this pay band level. In addition, must have progressively responsible experience that required the applicant to acquire and apply a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of the rules, regulations, procedures and program requirements of NAF personnel administration. Knowledge of office automation software (MS Windows, MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel) is required. Experience in an automated pay system and sufficient knowledge to code and input time and attendance reports is required. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using tact and courtesy. Must have excellent professional customer service skills or related experience in handling customers. Typing skills are required.
