About the Position: Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or detail NTE 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or details may be extended up to a maximum of five years and may be made permanent without further competition.
Position may be filled as a Temporary Appointment not to exceed 1 year, if candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. Temporary Appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three years.
Duties
Serve as Subject Matter Expert for travel document preparation in an automated travel system.
Responsible for preparation of travel orders, vouchers, amendments, revocations, and invitational orders involving travel to continental US (CONUS) and outside the continental US (OCONUS) for employees.
Provide advice, assistance, and pertinent information on all travel matters to travelers and administrative officials.
Solve problems pertaining to travel orders and travel vouchers.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- Must obtain and maintain a Financial Management Certification Level I.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Preparing travel documents in an automated system; (2) Reviewing requests to travel or reimbursement vouchers ensuring compliance and accuracy; AND (3) Verifying funding for travel requests using appropriate computer system software. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four years of education above high school that was obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
